Here's a tip

A big part of project management is checking on progress and making sure the work is completed on time. Now, we're going to learn some words and phrases for keeping everything moving while managing a project. We're learn things like: Sommes-nous sur la bonne voie... ? ( Are we on track... ?) Il y a eu une complication... (There was a complication...) Je dois assurer le suivi avec... ( I need to follow up with...)

As well as être en retard sur le planning ( to run behind schedule), a project can also be être dans les temps" (to run to schedule) or être en avance sur le planning (to run ahead of schedule). Je pense que nous sommes un peu en retard sur le planning. ( I think we are running slighlty behind schedule.) Sommes-nous dans les temps ? ( Are we running to schedule?) Super. On est en avance sur le planning. (Great. We are ahead of schedule.)

Sandra: Isaac. Comment ça se passe de votre côté ? Êtes-vous dans les temps ?

Sandra: Isaac. How's it going on your side? Are you running to schedule?

Isaac: Je crois que oui. Il y a eu un petit imprévu sur le plan technique mais je pense que nous sommes sur la bonne voie pour le livrer dans les temps.

Isaac: I think so. There was a slight complication on the technical side, but I think we are still on track to deliver on time.

Sandra: Super. Avez-vous relancé le client pour connaître son retour sur le projet ?

Sandra: Great. Did you chase the client for the feedback?

Isaac: Oui, j’ai assuré le suivi avec lui ce matin.

Isaac: Yeah, I followed up with them this morning.

Sandra: Génial. Je dois aussi faire le suivi avec l’équipe Marketing pour avoir des nouvelles.

Sandra: Cool. I need to follow up with the Marketing team for an update, too.
