Here's a tip

Let's now take a look at some phrases that are useful when reviewing our performance with our manager. We'll use these to express how we feel a job or a project is going. Comment pensez-vous que cette année s'est déroulée ? (How do you think this year has gone?) J'étais satisfait du déroulement du projet. (I was happy with the way the project went.) J'ai parfois eu du mal à respecter les échéances. (I struggled with meeting deadlines sometimes.)

Let's have another look at all the expressions we've learned before we practise some more: Qu'est-ce qui a bien marché d'après vous ? (What went well according to you?) Qu'est-ce qu'on aurait pu améliorer d'après vous ? (What could have been improved according to you?) Je pense que je me suis bien débrouillée avec... Klaus: Alors, qu'est-ce qui a bien marché cette année d’après vous ?

Klaus: So, what do you think went well this year?

Ezra: Euh... En général, je pense que je me suis bien débrouillée avec la gestion de plusieurs clients.

Ezra: Erm... In general I think I dealt well with managing multiple clients.

Klaus: Super ! Et d'après vous, qu'aurait-on pu améliorer ?

Klaus: In your opinion, what could have been improved?

Ezra: Eh bien, au début j’ai eu du mal avec la gestion d’autant de projets. Je pense que je pourrais travailler sur mes aptitudes à communiquer avec les équipes.

Ezra: Well, I struggled at first with juggling so many projects. I think I could work on my communication skills across teams.

Klaus: Oui je suis d’accord. Je suis satisfait du déroulement de la plupart de vos projets mais j’aimerais que l’année prochaine, vous travailliez sur votre gestion du temps et sur vos aptitudes à communiquer.

Klaus: Yes, I agree with you. I'm happy with the way most of your projects went, but next year, I'd like you to work on your time management and communication skills.
